This afternoon, Thomas G. Slater Jr. ’66, former VMI Board of Visitors president and current State Council of Higher Education for Virginia vice-chair, resigned. In his letter to Gov. Ralph S. Northam ‘81, Mr. Slater raised concerns that the investigative report commissioned by the governor would not be shared with Maj. Gen. Cedric T. Wins ’85, superintendent, or the Board of Visitors before being released to the public. This story is likely to garner media attention.
