Thank you to those alumni who participated in the election for the VMI Alumni Association Board of Directors. Simply Voting received 1567 ballots cast.
In accordance with the bylaws of the VMI Alumni Association, the following individuals have received the requisite majority of votes to serve as regional directors:
- Whitney Matthews ’07: Regional director for Region IV- Mid Atlantic, to serve for a term ending June 30, 2029
- Matthew Eads ’93: Regional director for Region V- Southeast, to serve for a term ending June 30, 2029
- Luke Hale ’00: Regional director for Region VI- Carolinas, to serve for a term ending June 30, 2029 (reappointment)
- James Chalkley ’73: Regional director for Region VII- Florida, to serve for a term ending June 30, 2029 (reappointment)
- Rob Robinson ’80: Regional director for Region VIII – Southwest VA/ Shenandoah Valley, to fill an unexpired term ending 30 June 2027
- Charles Sachs ’79: Regional director for Region X- South, to serve for a term ending June 30, 2029 (reappointment)
- Region XV – Pacific Rim: Gen Surapong Suwana-Adth ’79 to fill an unexpired Term ending 30 June 2027
In accordance with the bylaws of the VMI Alumni Association, the following individuals have received the requisite majority of votes to serve as at-large directors:
- Bland Massie ‘77: At-large director to serve for a term ending June 30, 2029
- S. Waite Rawls ‘70: At-large director to serve for a term ending June 30, 2029

We greatly appreciate our alumni for submitting outstanding nominees and the nominating committee for the process they undertook to arrive at this slate. This process was conducted in accordance with the Resolution and Policies for the Nomination and Election of the Board of Directors of the VMI Alumni Association. This nominating process has not changed for more than 40 years, and this structure has served us well.
