Ed Johnson ’79 shares a story that is relatable to many of our leadership donors.
On his first morning at VMI, Johnson didn’t wake up on time. “I was tired from the night before,” he said. The difficult-to-ignore face and voice of a cadre corporal finally roused him. After that rough beginning, Johnson learned many things at VMI.
Much like yourself, he was inspired by his experiences at the Institute to become involved as a regular donor to the Keydet Club. “I got way more from VMI than I could ever give back,” Johnson said.
“There are a lot of young men and women out there who can’t come to VMI if they don’t have financial assistance,” said the regular Keydet Club donor. “That’s why I give to VMI.”
80% of our annual funds were given through the generosity of our leadership donors, members of the Institute Society and Keydet Club. This number is representative of the critical role you play to VMI and the Corps of Cadets.

The director is responsible for platform coordination and troubleshooting, to include the VMI Alumni Agencies’ primary websites, digital newsletter and other digital platforms.
