January 2023 Update
We are pleased to announce that Moody Hall reopened its doors effective Tuesday, Jan. 17, to alumni and patrons of the Institute. Alumni Agencies offices will be accessible from the side entrance off Letcher Avenue between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday. The Moody Hall front door will be accessible only during scheduled events.
Alumni overnight guest rooms and various meeting rooms in Moody Hall are available to schedule effective Jan. 17 as well. To reserve either accommodation in Moody Hall, please contact the Alumni Association at 800-444-1839.
Alumni Guest Room Details
In order to reserve an overnight guest room in Moody Hall, please contact us at 800-444-1839 or through our online form. Effective March 1, 2019, there is a charge of $50 per night/per bed for alumni only. Reservations made after 4:00pm and on weekends will be handled the next business day.
Reservations are not guaranteed until you have confirmation from VMI Alumni Agencies staff and your payment has been made. Alumni must log in to our website to make payment.
After payment has been received, you will be notified via email of your room number and the passcode needed to gain access to the building after hours.
If you arrive after hours, you must enter through the outside steps on the Smith Hall side of the building. When you get to the top of the steps, the wooden door will be locked. You will then enter the passcode on the keypad. Once inside, the center door will lead you to the guest room hallway. We change our passcode often, so it is advisable to call or email a week before your visit to ensure code accuracy. Once you enter the hallway, your name and key will be on the door of the room you are assigned to.
Guests do not have access to “secure” Wi-Fi. Please choose Moody – Public from available options. There are no passwords required.
