Incoming cadets and their families had the chance to interact with and receive advice from VMI alumni, family, and friends at rat send-off events this summer. Of the 99 active alumni chapters, 74 chapters were represented at 50 rat send-off events.
“No matter how you come to VMI, you always hear about the value and passion of the VMI Alumni network,” said Thom Brashears ’95, VMI Alumni Association chief operating officer. “These rat send-offs are the first look at seeing this prized network in action. The life experiences our alumni have, along with their accomplishments, are nothing short of amazing. They all help to inspire the new rats to endure the trials and tribulations of the time-honored and tested traditions of the VMI Rat Line.”
