How to Submit Photos

Photos may be submitted for publication in the Alumni Review either digitally or printed on high quality photo paper. Depending on photo quality and space available, we may or may not be able to use the photo. If you mail photos to us, please send them certified mail with a receipt acknowledgement.

Note: We cannot take responsibility for photos that are lost in the mail or misplaced in transit.

Photo Captions

When submitting a photo, include a caption identifying the persons in the photo, listed from left to right, as well as the photo location, date and description of the event.

Digital Photo Submission Requirements

Most digital cameras have photo quality setting options. Set your camera’s setting to the highest quality level before taking the photo(s) to be submitted. Resolution requirements are 300 dots or pixels per inch (dpi or ppi). Please do not embed the photo in another document, such as a Word file or email message.

Note: Photos copied from a website are typically 72 dots per inch and are therefore inadequate in size and quality for reprint in the Review.

Photos meeting these requirements may be submitted to review@vmiaa.org or mailed to VMI Alumni Review, P.O. Box 932, Lexington, VA 24450.
