Meet Your Reunion Committee

Each year, milestone reunion giving combines to provide more than $10 million in support of the Institute, VMI athletics, and cadets.

Fund Priorities

For the Class of 2015, our priority funds are the Foundation Fund (unrestricted), Keydet Club Scholarship Fund (unrestricted within NCAA scholarships), and the Class of 2015 Endowment. The first two are workhorse funds for VMI, helping inspire daily progress. The class endowment is a legacy opportunity, a fund that lives in perpetuity.

The Foundation Fund annually provides support to the Institute to ensure the progress of the academic and co-curricular programs that give VMI a well-earned place among the nation’s top colleges. This fund routinely augments the academic program, cadet scholarships, and immutable barracks systems. The money inspires innovation and supports VMI’s distinctive military systems.

The Keydet Club Scholarship Fund provides grant-in-aid support to cadet athletes and encourages a competitive NCAA program. This fund attracts cadets to VMI, fuels opportunity, and helps mitigate the cost of attendance for those who compete for VMI while earning their academic degree.

The Class of 2015 Endowment is built throughout the years and reflects both the generosity of individual brother rats and collective legacy support by the class. The endowment is invested as part of VMI’s overall endowment (some $800 million today) and, on behalf of the class, goes to work each year to support mission-appropriate needs and opportunities.

Consideration of a Pledge

For some, it may be the first real consideration of a gift:

  • A one-time gift of $120.15 to the priority fund of choice or divided between the three would be great.
(If pledged for 5 years, the total is $600.75)
  • A monthly draw from a credit card of $20.15 becomes an annual donation of $241.80.
(If pledged for 5 years, the total is $1,209.00)

For others who already give, whether regularly or occasionally, it may be a good time to give a little more than usual:

  • A gift of $500 per year supports Cadets in a variety of ways.
(If pledged for 5 years, the total is $2,500)
  • A gift of $100 per month for 60 months is a leadership donation for either the VMI Foundation or Keydet Club.
(If pledged for 5 years, the total is $6,000)

For those who are able, a leadership-level commitment would be awesome:

  • Joint leadership with the VMI Foundation and Keydet Club is $200 monthly – $2,400 a year.
(If pledged for 5 years, the total is $12,000.)
  • Common use of the term “major gift” suggests a gift of $25,000 or more, once or over 5 years.
