This spring, the VMI Alumni Agencies is introducing a new online feature to enhance stewardship and engagement efforts for donors: A donor portal.

This new feature allows donors to create and log into VMI Ranks using their unique username and password and view a snapshot of their giving history, memberships, and contact information. The site is password-protected to ensure participants can only view information pertaining to their own record.

In addition to viewing a snapshot of their most recent gifts, donors can see their memberships in leadership giving societies such as the VMI Keydet Club, the Institute Society, the Washington Arch Society (for those who have included VMI in their estate plans), and the Marshall Order, which recognizes exceptional levels of philanthropic support. Details are included for each of those giving societies so all donors can see the levels of support that qualify an individual for membership in each society.

Visitors to the portal can also see at a glance the impressive levels of support the VMI family provided to the Institute and the Corps of Cadets in Fiscal Year 2022, totaling $23.2 million in direct aid, an increase of $4.3 million over the past six years. Visitors will also learn that more than 3,800 alumni supported VMI in Fiscal Year 2022 out of a total of more than 5,200 donors, and collectively, these donors gave more than $5.5 million in scholarship aid.

Rounding out the portal are human impact stories featuring both cadets and alums, each describing in their own words what a VMI education has meant to them and how the Institute has changed their lives for the better.
