The VMI Foundation Board of Trustees gathered in Lexington Nov. 6–7, 2025, for 2 action-packed days. We kicked things off Friday morning with our fall board meeting, then honored Gene Williams ’74 during convocation as this year’s Distinguished Service Award recipient.
That afternoon, we watched the Corps of Cadets on parade before coming together in the Center for Leadership and Ethics for the 51st Institute Society Dinner. It was a memorable evening filled with camaraderie and gratitude. The Institute Society also had the privilege of welcoming retired U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. David Furness ’87, VMI’s 16th superintendent, who shared thoughtful remarks on the state of VMI with glimpses of his vision for the future.
The day’s success was made possible by the dedicated VMI Alumni Agencies staff and the generous donors who return to Lexington each fall to celebrate the philanthropy that keeps the Institute thriving.
As we approach the holiday season, I’m filled with gratitude and pride for all that the VMI community has accomplished this fall. The energy and dedication across post continue to show why VMI holds such a special place in our lives.
To every member of our extended Foundation family—thank you. Your generosity, encouragement, and steadfast support make a lasting difference. Together, we honor the Institute’s storied past while ensuring a bright future for generations to come.
Join us in keeping this momentum strong—your continued support fuels VMI’s mission and impact.
