Reece Udinski ’21, former VMI quarterback, has signed a contract to play for the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League in the upcoming season.

One of the most decorated quarterbacks to come out of VMI, Udinski finished his VMI career with 7,877 yards, which ranks sixth all-time in the Southern Conference. After becoming the first VMI quarterback to eclipse 3,000 passing yards in a season as a sophomore, Udinski threw for 3,276 yards as a junior, beginning the season with 368 passing attempts without an interception, an FCS record. As a senior, Udinski led the Keydets to their first 4-0 start in 2021 before suffering a season-ending injury. Udinski would close his VMI career with 47 passing touchdowns, then played for Maryland before finishing his career at Richmond.

Udinski is not the first Keydet to play for the Alouettes, as running back Thomas Haskins ’97 competed for the franchise from 1997–2002.
