Rifle Cadet-Athletes Named CRCA Scholastic All-Americans

Kelia Aardema ’20 was one of 10 cadet-athletes who were named Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association Scholastic All-Americans. To earn the honor, a student-athlete must have maintained at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average through the fall 2019 semester.

Ten members of VMI’s rifle team were named Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association Scholastic All-Americans. Thirty-seven total athletes received the CRCA honors, and each team was represented by at least one shooter. The SoCon offices in Spartanburg, South Carolina, announced the CRCA honors March 20, 2020.

The VMI mixed and women’s teams led the way with their 10 total honorees, while The Citadel’s teams combined to place nine student-athletes on the team. The University of Alabama at Birmingham was right behind with eight selections, while North Georgia (five), Georgia Southern (three) and Wofford (two) rounded out the list. To earn the honor, a student-athlete must have maintained at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average through the fall 2019 semester.
