The VMI men’s soccer team played to the final buzzer in a dominant 8-0 win over visiting Warren Wilson College at Patchin Field Aug. 9, 2026.

With the win, VMI improves to 4-4 on the season while the Owls fall to 0-3 to start the year.

VMI led by a 2-0 score at the half before pouring it on with six goals in the latter half en route to the victory.

Jack Miller ’27 scored his second goal of the season in the 18th minute (17:44) when he knocked in a cross from Jesse Lee ’27 for the game-winning goal. A few minutes later, Jaden Moore ’30 scored his third goal of the year when Jordan Savage ’28 crossed the ball, and he put it in for a 2-0 advantage going into the break.

Savage, Michael Dipita ’30, Rowen Choi ’29, and Lennox Moua ’30 scored their first goals of the season early in the second half. Choi was fouled in the Warren Wilson goalbox resulting in a penalty kick, which he converted for VMI’s fifth goal of the match.

The Keydets would go on to add two more goals in the final 20 minutes. Lee scored his third goal of the season off a pass from Yeirin Mejia ’27 in the 71st minute (70:44). With only a few minutes left in the game, Mejia logged his fifth goal of the season off a helper from Markos Panoutsos ’29 for the final tally.
