VMI ACWPC Athletes

A total of eight VMI student-athletes were recognized July 10, 2019, with the release of the 2019 Women’s All-Academic list from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches. The Keydets also earned team honors with a 3.16 GPA.

Individual award winners are divided into three teams (Outstanding: 4.0-3.71; Superior: 3.70-3.41; Excellent: 3.40-3.20). Cadet Bridget Hughes ’22, Caroline Wojtas ’19 and Sarah Dolitsky ’19 earned Outstanding honors; Cadets Amber Hamil ’21, Emma Noble ’20, Genevieve Petrassi ’22 and Makenna Moore ’22 received Superior accolades; and Cadet Emma Perez ’20 earned a spot on the Excellent team on the 13-player Keydet roster.

”I’m very proud of the team’s academic accomplishments,” said Ryan Pryor, head coach. “Academic excellence is something we stress as being the top priority. We have a great group of cadet-athletes who are as committed in the classroom as they are in the pool. Congratulations to the eight individuals who were named Academic All-American and to the team as a whole for posting an excellent overall team GPA.”

To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete’s head coach must be a member of the ACWPC, while the athlete must attain a grade-point average in excess of 3.20. Teams must achieve a 3.0 GPA to garner honors.
