The VMI Alumni Pier Fishing Club’s 2026 summer outing will be held Saturday, June 20, on the Virginia Beach Fishing Pier located at 1415 Atlantic Avenue in Virginia Beach.

We will assemble at 9 a.m.

Pier admission will be $12 per person. | Parking fee will be $10 per vehicle. |
Rod rental: $12.

You must advise both the parking lot and the pier entrance attendants that you’re with VMI when you enter to take advantage of the club’s discounted pricing arrangement. 

The outing is open to all VMI alumni, families, and friends, so please encourage your classmates and other alumni whom you may know to join us.

There will be plenty of help on hand, so don’t let a lack of experience discourage you if you’re not a seasoned saltwater angler.

Be sure to pack a folding chair, sunblock, lunch, and a cooler with drinks. Bait, rental rods, tackle, and snacks are available at the pier’s tackle shop.

SRC will follow at approximately 1600 at Ocean Eddie’s Seafood Restaurant, immediately adjacent to the fishing pier. 

Those traveling from outside the Tidewater area will find that hotel accommodations are more affordable in the outlying areas than on Atlantic Avenue.
