Marshall Hall exterior

VMI’s Annual Leadership and Ethics Conference continues to seek out top leadership themes such as leading through disruption, civil discourse, grit, strategic leadership, and more. Each conference features top-notch speakers and subject-matter experts, small group discussions, and interactive and engaging activities.

Strong Leaders, Strong Teams is the theme of this year’s conference, coming out of the Center for Leadership and Ethic’s annual theme of Teamwork: Out of Many, One. This year’s conference will be held virtually Feb. 15-16, 2021. It explores a progression of teamwork principles from leading self, to peer-to-peer leadership, to leading high-performing teams. Speakers, bonus interviews, and activities contribute to the participant’s journey over the two days!

Featured speakers include: Retired U.S. Army Gen. Stanley McChrystal; retired U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Richard “Butch” Neal; Shari Harley, business communications trainer; and Ben Freakley, former VMI men’s soccer coach and mental performance coach for the Toronto Blue Jays. Alumni speakers include Lester Johnson ’95, Elise Woodworth ’07, U.S. Marine Corps Capt. Joe Bishop ’14, and U.S. Army 1st Lt. Samantha Shepherd ’18.
